Give God Praise This Christmas Eve
If we Are Silent, the Stones will Cry Out!

“And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men (Luke 2:13-14).’”

So scripture teaches us that His gift to us of a son in human form, is worthy of praise to God. Throughout scripture in many ways we are taught to be thankful for His gifts and blessings. Indeed, later in Luke (19:37-40) we learn from Jesus that if the people who are praising God are silenced, “…the stones would immediately cry out.”

Amidst the hustle and bustle of our Holiday, that rightly causes us to pause and honor the King of Kings, we should remember to be thankful for all His mighty works, including even the incredible workings of our own body and for our health:

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well (Psalm 139:14).”

Like most of us I am tempted to think about disappointments and discouragements, all the “what ifs,” mistakes, and hurts I’ve made and felt. Yet God gave us a simple gift two thousand years ago in Bethlehem, a gift of forgiveness, redemption, and hope.

By embracing this hope we can have the, “…peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, [that] will guard your hearts and minds….(Phillipians 4:7)”

Whatever your loss or disappointment this year, regardless of the weight on your shoulders, remember to join with your family, a friend or stranger, and give Him praise tonight and always.

Sincerely,

Dr. Rob Leach
