Do We Need More Thanksgiving?
Patients & Friends,
Most of us think of Thanksgiving as a time to eat good food, and of course that is a happy part of the celebration. But it’s what happens inside our heart that is most important! We never seem to recognize just how precious life is until a friend or loved one is threatened with serious illness or death. It begs the question, do we need more Thanksgiving?
There are no words to describe it, but our most important gifts in this life—a beautiful sunrise or sunset, a smile, a caring gesture from a friend—are all freely provided by our creator. He offers us abundant life now. He even offers life after this life ends. He says he created us to do good works, and spread the love around, especially caring for those with special needs, unable to care for themselves.
So take a moment to enjoy His richest gifts, free to those who seek them. Take a walk, look around, and smile at all His creation. And, consider thanking Him, by giving more thanks not just with our words around the table, but by our actions around the year.
